The Society

The Philippine Society for Training and Development Foundation Inc. (PSTDFI) is created for and supervised by the Training and Development community of scholars and insightful practitioners. The society aimed to inspire systematic promulgation and study of training and development processes, theories and practices and to offer prospects for social interaction among individuals with professional interests in training and development from various disciplines across the country.

A certified bond and codes of conduct unite PSTD and its constituents. The Society brings forth the greater benefit of the industry by sharing the trade’s best practices.

Our affiliates are composed of private business, academic institutions, government agencies, and non-government organizations and individuals in the field of Human Resource Development and Workplace Learning and Performance.

Our Objectives

1. To encourage a perceptive workplace learning and performance improvement as a fundamental responsibility of management through civic programs that highlights the tactical value of training and development in organizations.

  • Such as Strategic Training and Development , Managing the Training Function, Measuring Training Effectiveness, etc.

2. To actively seek a more effective way of local training and development through research and case studies.

  • Studies and researches to broaden the knowledge base of training and development in the Philippines
  • Directory of training and development resources to address local T&D needs of its members (Resource Guide)

3. To serve as an opportunity for dialogue and exchange of information related to workplace learning and performance improvement.

  • E-group as a venue for discussion and sharing of best practices and professional experiences
  • Website for information dissemination
  • Monthly learning sessions (a.k.a., “Tipanan”) for information exchange and networking

4. To cultivate committed relations and uphold professional development among the practitioners of the HRD & WLP.

  • Certification on WLP competencies
  • Certificate and diploma courses for professional enrichment in partnership with academic institutions
  • Fellowship activities

5. To expand and sustain contacts with local and international organizations associated to workplace learning, performance, and HRD.

  • Liaison with PMAP, ASTD, ARTDO, IFTDO and other international organizations in the field of T&D as the official representative of the country Delegations for attendance to international conferences and conventions
